Ars Improvisatoria es un proyecto centrado en la improvisación desde la perspectiva de la guitarra clásica. Una manera alternativa de abordar el repertorio de la guitarra clásica, que entrelaza aspectos técnicos y estéticos de diferentes prácticas musicales en busca de nuevas lecturas.
AS LONG AS THE SUN, AS LONG AS THE MOON (AMP Music & Records 2023)
Eight collective improvisations based on small musical ideas from contemporary guitar works that make a beautiful suite of music; evocative, spiritual, hypnotic.The pieces found here are the consequence of a de-composing/re-composing process where each musician previously immerses into the music, transforming the notes and rhythms of these ideas to embody them, creating each a personal sonic palette with which to interact in the final creative process.
Inspired by Abraham Abulafia’s Words of Beauty, “As long as the sun, as long as the moon” is the second release of Anatol Rivero’s project Ars Improvisatoria.

Ocho improvisaciones colectivas basadas en material temático extraído de piezas contemporáneas para guitarra clásica que forman una evocadora suite. Cada músico se sumerge previamente en la música, transformándola e incorporándola a su lenguaje para luego interactuar en el proceso creativo final.
Inspirado por el libro de Abraham Abulafia «Imre Sefer», «As Long As The Sun, As Long As The Moon» es el segundo disco de Ars Improvisatoria.
NOCTURNE (Arka Archives 2022) A unique recording of an entirely improvised classical guitar album.
‘‘Nocturne’’ is the first album of Anatol Rivero’s project Ars Improvisatoria. A unique reference within the catalogue of the classical guitar, starting from musical cells taken from the instrument’s contemporary repertoire, and after undergoing a de-composing/re-composing process, Anatol Rivero uses these material to create a newly improvised musical composition. The pieces heard in ‘‘Nocturne’’ are the outcome of this experience.

«Nocturne», el primer disco del proyecto Ars Improvisatoria de Anatol Rivero, un proyecto pionero centrado en la improvisación desde la perspectiva de la guitarra clásica. Partiendo de motivos musicales del repertorio contemporáneo de la guitarra, y, tras un proceso de de-composición/re-composición de los mismos, Anatol Rivero toma este material temático para construir un nuevo discurso sonoro improvisado.

Gitarre-Übung is a project that takes its name from “Clavier-Übung”(keyboard exercise) a common title for keyboard music collections in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, the term later associated with Bach’s four Clavier-Übung publications.
In this project Anatol Rivero is transcribing major Bach keyboard works: French Suites, English Suites, Partitas, Inventions and Sinfonias. Through the process of transfering Bach’s clavier counterpoint texture to the guitar many technical and musical decisions need to be adressed to overcome the guitar’s own physical limitations.

Proyecto que toma su nombre en referencia a “Clavier-Übung” (ejercicio del teclado) título genérico de frecuente uso en los s.XVII y XVIII que los compositores utilizaban para distintas compilaciones de su obra para teclado y que actualmente se asocia a la obra del mismo nombre de Bach.
En este proyecto, Anatol Rivero está transcribiendo y estudiando ciclos completos de la obra para clave de Bach. En el proceso de llevar a la guitarra la textura contrapuntística de la escritura para clave de Bach numerosas decisiones musicales y técnicas deben ser tenidas en cuenta para superar las limitaciones físicas del instrumento. El corpus de este proyecto está formado por suites francesas, suites inglesas, partitas, invenciones y sinfonías.

"The Bach heard here is an attempt to play an extremely demanding music for the guitar driven by the desire to experience it first-hand. This has been a tremendous journey: from trying to fit the music into the physical limits of the guitar to the incredible challenge of performing it and making it work; a labour of love inspired by the beauty and depth of this music.
I've included 'Angélico' from Federico Mompou's 'Música Callada' (Silent Music) as a prelude to the suite. In concerts, Mompou's piece has helped me achieve the optimal state for performing this music, working as a sort of mantra or magic formula. This is a free, almost improvised version of the piece."

«El Bach que escuchamos aquí es un intento de tocar lo imposible en la guitarra fruto del deseo de experimentar esta música en primera persona. Esta ha sido una experiencia extraordinaria: desde buscar la manera de adaptar la música a los límites físicos del instrumento al increíble reto de interpretarla y hacerla funcionar, una obra de amor inspirada por la belleza y profundidad de esta música.
He incluido la pieza ‘‘Angélico’’ de Federico Mompou, con la que abre su ‘‘Música Callada’’, como preludio a la suite. En conciertos, esta pieza, a la manera de un mantra u oración, me ha ayudado a alcanzar el estado óptimo de concentración para abordar la suite. Esta es una versión libre casi improvisada de ‘‘Angélico’’».
